Theorists that can be applied to my music video...
According to Pam Cook (1985), the standard Hollywood narrative structure should have: Linearity of cause and effect within an overall trajectory of enigma resolution. A high degree of narrative closure, and a fictional world that contains verisimilitude especially governed by spatial and temporal coherence.
My music video is a narrative video and it can be seen as a standard Hollywood narrative structure because it adheres to a linear format. However, my video doesn't exactly have a very high degree of narrative closure and this was done deliberately. This was because I wanted the audience to be left wondering what happened between the girl and her significant other for her to be ignored by him. I wanted it to be left unclear so that it makes the audience question things for themselves, which does not conform to Cook's theory as such. However, overall I think that Pam Cook's theory does partly relate to my music video due to the fact I have the usual linear narrative format, as well as having a plot that creates verisimilitude.
